The Office Québec-Monde pour la jeunesse will soon see the light of day. Its mission will be to develop relations between young people in Québec and those in jurisdictions and countries that are not covered by the Office franco-québécois pour la jeunesse (OFQJ), the Office Québec/Wallonie-Bruxelles pour la jeunesse (OQWBJ) and the Office Québec-Amériques pour la jeunesse (OQAJ).
The Minister of International Relations and Minister responsible for La Francophonie, Pierre Arcand, in fact tabled bill 17 before the National Assembly, which establishes the Office Québec-Monde pour la jeunesse and determines its rules and mode of operation.
“Young people need a local platform where they can express their creativity, entrepreneurship and view of the world that has resonance within an international network. The Offices jeunesse meet this requirement of the 21st century and the Office Québec-Monde pour la jeunesse will finalize this opportunity for young people to go abroad,” declared the Minister.
