Québec Premier Jean Charest travelled to Boston on February 23 to give a speech as part of the Canada Seminars series organized by Harvard University’s Weatherhead Center for International Affairs. The Premier took part in the seminar at the invitation of sociologist Gérard Bouchard, currently a guest professor at the prestigious research centre.
Premier Charest told an audience of about 200 people, “In today’s economic context, I want to tell Americans about the determination of Québec and its population, especially Québec entrepreneurs and researchers, to work with you in rising to the economic, energy and environmental challenges we are all facing.”
The Weatherhead Center for International Affairs is the largest international research centre within Harvard University’s Faculty of Arts and Sciences. It is structured to encourage interaction among a diverse community of scholars and practitioners. To stimulate this dialogue, the Weatherhead Center sponsors a wide array of seminars, research programs, workshops, and conferences.
