On the occasion of the Francophonie Celebrations in New-England, the Québec Government Office has teamed up with its francophone partners to develop a rich cultural program.
New England speaks French! Hundreds of thousands of New Englanders are descendants of immigrants from diverse regions of Canada including, of course, Quebec. Others have come from Europe, Africa, the Caribbean—especially Haiti—, Liban, Vietnam… Many young people, from kindergarten to the innumerable universities in the region, study French. In short, French is alive and well in New England. All year long there are many events of special interest to francophones and francophiles: films, plays, concerts, lectures, and more. The high point is in March, the entire month is Le Mois de la francophonie. Check the calendar regularly to find out what’s going on near you, and join us!
Throughout the Mois de la Francophonie, we invite you to participate in the events and meet those who take pride in promoting francophone cultures and the French language.
