Mary Beth Totten, our Agro-food Attachée with the staff of Maison LeGrand.
The Ministère de l’Agriculture, des Pêcheries et de l’Alimentation du Québec (MAPAQ) and the Québec Government Office in Boston partnered with the Canadian Consulate in Boston as well as its Ontarian and Eastern Canadian colleagues (OMAFRA and ACOA) to showcase 14 companies at the Delhaize America Maine office.
Delhaize America owns Hannafords and Food Lion, two major grocery chains on the US East Coast – totalling over 1500 stores.
Out of the 14 participating Canadian companies, 7 were from Québec.
The mission kicked off with a welcoming reception and store tours, prior to a full day of pitch meetings followed by a tasting.
The Delhaize buyers appreciated the opportunity to learn of new innovative and delicious products they could bring to the American market, while the Québec companies took a first step in seeing their products on the shelves this prestigious grocery chain.
