In Montréal to promote the advantages of doing business in her state, South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley was guest speaker at an April 2 luncheon organized by the Montreal Council of Foreign Relations (CORIM).
Midway in their North-American promotional tour, Montréal’s SOLIDS performed at the 529 Bar in Atlanta on March 14. Singer/guitarist Xavier Germain-Poitras and drummer/singer Louis Guillemette rocked Georgia’s capital with their unique alterno-grunge-punk-rock sound, a few days only after playing to packed rooms at Maggie Mae’s, as part of Planet Québec’s music program at South by Southwest ™, held in Austin from March 11 to March 16.

The State of Georgia now requires that foreign visitors driving in Georgia with licenses in languages other than English carry an international driver's license. This regulation could impact Quebecers who visit Georgia or drive through it on their way to Florida.
Export Québec, in collaboration with the Québec Delegation in Atlanta, organized a trade mission to Orlando during the Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference (I/ITSEC). A major simulation and training trade show for the defense industry, I/ITSEC took place in Orlando,FL, from December 2 to 5, 2013.
Québec-based Lisette-L (www.lisette-l.com), a manufacturer of pants for women, has been storming across the United States since Oprah Winfrey mentioned in one of her television programs that these pants were the best she ever bought. The pants were featured on the cover of Oprah Magazine's October issue. Lisette-L’s headquarters is in Montréal and all the pants are designed and made in Québec. The company stocks over 90 000 units in their warehouse in Montréal, which insures a quick delivery to its numerous retailers in North America. Lisette-L is represented in the United States by a network of reps, two of whom are based in Atlanta and have showrooms at AmericasMart Building 3.
