Singeries by Catherine Lavoie-Marcus and Priscilla Guy - Theater Rotterdam
Two women are trying to remain true to themselves. Stuck in the centre of a video fresco where their image multiplies and flies in pieces, they sing and replay compulsively so as not to dissolve. However, their hopes remain poorly anchored to their destiny; they are constantly behind or ahead of themselves. From one person to another, female presences came to their rescue (Marguerite Duras, Chantal Akerman, Martha Rosler, Amy Greenfield, Maya Deren, Lygia Clark), but their rumours ended far and wide. Let's call it an imposture.

19u00: CUTLASS SPRING by Dana Michel - Theater Rotterdam
The chameleonist artist Dana Michel unravels a knot that many may not even have known existed. With dance and performance, it breaks the conventions to which we are accustomed.
To give way to the fullness of her possibilities, she must open the door more to her own sexuality. Michel is inspired by sculpture, cinema, comedy, psychology and sociology. In her previous work, she focused on the suppression of a cultural identity. CUTLASS SPRING deals with the many facets of human sexuality. She examines how her sexual identity has been shaped by cultural repression and her life as an artist, lover and mother.
CONCERT
Operators is the new project of Dan Boeckner (Wolf Parade, Handsome Furs, Divine Fits) and Sam Brown (Divine Fits, New Bomb Turkish). The Montreal group first made their voice heard with an EP in 2014, before releasing their debut album Blue Wave on Last Gang Records in 2016. Radiant Dawn, the band's new album, is expected in May 2019. The first single Faithless contains a constant and pressing krautrockbeat, which gives the song a hypnotic effect. For nearly seven minutes, this rhythm is the basis of a constantly evolving sound explosion. We can't wait for the album and the show!
ANEMONE is a real live band, not just a solo bedroom studio Project. Lead by Songwriter Chloé Soldevila, it is music to be blasted from car speakers and at parties, a communal experience intended to be shared.
